Freestyle Fitness Yoga – Coming Soon
Developed by Jayne Nicholls, Freestyle Fitness Yoga brings together Yoga and Group Exercise, with participants seeing results in improvement of their strength and flexibility. Participants will see the benefits within 8 weeks, moving more effectively and efficiently, improving posture, self awareness and confidence.
The focus is on movement, breathing, transitions from one posture to another and progression. Many people feel intimidated by the ‘mystery’ that surrounds all of the other Yoga disciplines, or feel embarrassed if they do not understand or wish to participate in the chanting or use of Sanskrit terms.
In Freestyle Fitness Yoga, Jayne has designed postures with a modern fitness perspective, adopting a mindful method of teaching that reflects the Buddhist traditions of Yoga in a more contemporary and social environment.
Extreme postures such as headstands, that exceed optimal ranges of motion are avoided, in favour of those promoting individual strengths and performance.
During Freestyle Fitness Yoga moves and postures can be sequenced together to the beat of the music making transitions seamless and graceful.
Jayne has been teaching other instructors to deliver Freestyle Fitness Yoga classes for 10 years, and within the next few months Confident Fitness will be delivering Freestyle Fitness Yoga classes, and working towards full Yoga classes with a Level 3 Diploma that Petra Hammond,Confident Fitness founder, is undertaking this year.
